The best kind of bonding

Sometimes you can bond with people over the weirdest things.

You can happen to be sitting next to each other in school and bond about how this homework assigment is killer and how you both really don't have time for this (when actually, you're paying for what you're complaining about).

Or you can find something you both like that maybe most people do not. ("Yeah, I simply don't understand WHY people don't like anchovies. They're delicious, huh?!" or "I'm so glad you have an ant farm too. Our ants should hang out sometime.")

Then you can be thrown into a project together and share the stress, venting about all of the glitches, knowing at least you're in this together.

Along with that, sometimes you'll be stuck waiting in line and you bond with someone else in line simply about how long this blasted line is taking.

I think there's also something to be said for bonding about differences. ("No way, you eat that every DAY?! Tell me more about this food..." or "Oh, my religion does things like this, how exactly does yours work?")

All types of bonding are important, and I only named a few that happen every day.

My favorite kind of bonding is where you bond about life.

Sounds vague, but that's because it is. These are the people you always have something to talk about with. There's that car you want to buy, that extremely attractive boy across the room, the way the government is handling this or that, your next semester of classes, what you really want out of life when it comes down to it, that movie you really want to see, the latest epiphany about life you figured out, what you want for lunch, what you notice people doing every day, how people treat you at work, why people act the way they do or what you're thinking at any given moment.

Those are a lot of diverse discussion topics, and that's just the tiniest drop in the life-topic ocean. The people you can talk about anything with, those are people I love to be with. They're the people that don't leave my life if my class with them ends, they move away for school or we don't see each other often.

Basically, these people turn into your best friends. Some are your close family, some are people you meet at school, work, church and in that snow cone line.

Ah, bonding. Life is a big bonding experience. We're all in this together, folks. Yes, it's true, High School Musical knows its stuff.

Well, all for now. Off to bond with people. And maybe to get a snow cone.
